On the most important day of your life, you’ll want to make sure that you look your absolute best. From your pedicure to your gown to your jewelry, the finished look should look like a million bucks. With so many decisions to make, we decided to put together a quick little guide that will help you choose the perfect bridal bracelet to compliment your look.
The first thing to decide when picking out jewelry is what type of look you are trying to achieve.
If your look is classic – Brides have long loved the elegance and grace that pearl jewelry provides. Pearl bracelets are beautiful and are available in an array of colors. If your bridesmaids are wearing pink, you can choose a pink pearl bracelet to coordinate with them and your flowers. If you prefer to stick with classic colors like white and ivory, then consider a bracelet with several rows of pearls or an interesting focal point, like a cameo or rhinestone flower.
If your look is contemporary – Go ahead and pile on the rhinestones. After all, this is the season for great costume jewelry and stunning oversize pieces. Consider retro geometric shaped settings for a clean and updated appearance. Or, if you want a focal point, opt for a giant floral bracelet in a candy color.
If your look is romantic – Play with art deco pieces that are inspired glamorous throwbacks to the eras of the 40s and 50s. Also, check out pieces that have floral cutouts for a modern interpretation of the cuff bracelet or pendant. These pieces look phenomenal with lace and ivory dresses.
Also, consider jewelry sets for you and your bridal party. These keepsakes make an amazing gift, and you can find great value for your money when purchasing necklaces, earrings and bracelets together.

How to wear a wedding ring set?
I got engaged today and my fiance bought a wedding set instead of just the engagement ring. Do I wear both the wedding band and engagement ring now or do i wear just the engagement ring and wait until the wedding to put on the wedding band?
What is the best way to clean my wedding ring set?
I just got my wedding ring set professionally cleaned. They also re-dipped, tightened the diamonds, and resized it for me. It looks BRAND NEW! How do I keep it looking clean and new? (I have a jewelry cleaner, but I was wondering if there was a better, or more natural cleaner? Or is the jewelry cleaner the best way to go?) Thanks for your help!
Can 18carat gold engagement ring and wedding ring setting be changed to white gold or platinum?
My wife wants to keep the rings that she got when we were engaged/married, but we would like to update them to white gold or platinum. Does anyone know if they can be dipped in a different gold and if so will it last. Also, any ideas what type of cost we would be looking at? Standard diamond ring with 4 small diamonds on each side and the wedding band has about 8 small diamonds in it as well. Thanks!

What do you think about this engagement and wedding ring set?
Picking your brain about this ring combo. What do you think about this three stone cathedral setting engagement ring with channel set band worn with diamond wedding band? Do they go together and do you like them?

Yes, yellow gold can certainly be dipped in rhodium, is it recommended? Some say no. It really will depend on the setting, normally stones aren’t removed. However, will it last, no, not permanently. The rhodium will wear, and you will need to redip. It takes years to wear down. Cost of a rhodium dip, 20-100 dollars. To buy a platinum setting and have it reset, could be 1000, if it were a solitaire only, then easily half that. Take to a jeweler and ask an opinion, be sure its a jeweler, not just a jewelery store. Look for advertisements in the phone book of a jeweler on site, these places will advertise same day work. A white gold setting would cost 500-700.
right now you just wear the engagement ring. he should hang on to the wedding band for you for now. then on your wedding day, he’ll place the wedding band on your finger.
The gold ring will probably be the big expense. Get bids from more than one jeweler.
i like smaller diamonds in channel set. the ones on the band are a bit large. the engagement ring is great though
thats just my personal taste however
I make jewelry for a living, and one thing that I used to have a problem with was keeping materials from tarnishing before I got a chance to use them. I ran across this tip and it works like a charm for the things you need to store but want to keep clean, including silverware: rub them with a very thin coating of Alberto VO5 Hair Dressing (the greasy hair stuff in the tubes – yes, they still make it!), then wipe your jewelry with a polishing cloth to remove any excess, and store each piece/kind in a Ziploc bag that has all of the air pushed out.
I’m assuming that you will be actually WEARING your wedding rings, though, and while this treatment will help them some, it will rub off rather quickly. I clean all of the precious metal jewelry that I wear regularly with either baking soda or mild toothpaste and warm water using a very soft toothbrush (the one I use is made for young toddlers). I just clean my rings at the same time I scrub my nails. I usually leave them on my hands to scrub them, but remove them once a week or so to make sure I keep lotion and stuff out of any places on the insides of the bands, too, and when I do, I check for loose stones, etc.! I use the little drain basket for my contact lenses in the sink to keep them from getting dropped down the drain!
By the way, a thin coating of VO5 applied to clean hands before working on the car or anything else really dirty or greasy also helps enormously to keep hands and nails from getting grease or grass stained and makes clean-up a breeze afterwards! I used to hate changing the oil or anything in the car cuz I always got grease under my nails and couldn’t get it out. Not any more! =)
