Author: David Michal Jones

Wedding rings are symbol of emotions and feelings and everyone’s want their ring to be perfect. There are host of choices in men’s and women’s wedding ring but diamond wedding rings are the perfect choice and it will of course wow your lady. Diamond wedding rings offer value, sparkle and clarity that set the standard for wedding rings. But you must be very careful while you are selecting your ring.

The first and most important thing which you must consider is the 4C’S of diamond which are colour, carat, clarity and cut.  All these attributes will help you to determine the real value of diamond. But among all these factors cut is the most important factor.

Cut:

You can find host of choices in cut such as round, princess, emerald, heart, pear, marquise and radiant. But princess cut diamond is very popular among the couples for wedding and engagement rings. Princess cut gives diamond its best brilliance and brings smile on everyone’s face that sees it. This cut gives diamond its best value and also reduces the flaws and inclusions which diamond might have.  But before selecting the cut of diamond you must also think of your budget because the cut plays a vital role in the price of diamond. There are many fancy cuts which are expensive compare to princess cut.

Colour:

After selecting the perfect cut for your ring you must think of colour. Always remember that there is a scale which ranks the colour of diamond. The grading system of colour utilizes the alphabet ranging from D to Z. Z which is at the lowest means pale yellow and D means translucent.

Clarity:

Clarity of diamond refers to the inclusions and flaws of diamond. And always remember that people generally prefer diamond which has slightest amount of flaws. And you can not see these flaws with your naked eye but you have to use loupe which is a special tool which is used by the jewellers to see the flaws and inclusions.

Carat:

Carat of diamond refers the weight of diamond and is measured in carat. Generally the weight of diamond is in between 0.01 and 1.00. And always remember the best way to determine the value of diamond is the carat weight and no two diamonds are identical. Before purchasing your wedding ring you must keep in mind that it is very essential to consider carat of diamond because it impacts the price also.

Start at Walmart prices and go up into the millions of dollars. There is no such thing as a price list for diamond wedding rings so no reason to waste your time looking.

I always use tooth paste ( not gel, PASTE) and an old soft tooth brush to clean my rings and earrings.
Necklaces: I use an old soft cloth (not terry cloth) Hold the necklace at one end & pull through the folded cloth. Repete till no more lines show on cloth.
Sterling Silver: Just wipe till no more tarnish comes off.( or get the sterling silver wipe clothes from Wal-Mart)

Since different jewelers specialize in specific areas of the diamond market (carat size, clarity grade, etc.), the smartest method to find the lowest price is to use the diamond search engines to see what prices are available for the rings you like. And you can always go in reverse–window shop till you find rings you like, write down their specs, then go online to the diamond search engines to see who has the best price for what you found. I recommend http://www.diamondpriceguru.com/ as well as Pricescope. Each of these pulls inventory information from about 10 different jewelers, with some overlap. So, if you use both you’re probably 90% certain you’ll find the lowest price.

    I hope this helps.
